Very Fine Data was formed in 2019 by a group of concerned professionals, troubled by the number of brilliant businesses, projects, and ideas getting lost in the wilderness of modern data. Our backgrounds come from marketing, nonprofit development, consulting, academia, design, and IT. What we all share in common is a love of solving problems, sharing knowledge, and making data more accessible to those that need it.
Founder Malcolm McIlraith laid the groundwork for Very Fine Data while completing his Masters of Decision Analytics at VCU in Richmond, VA. With more than 7 years experience working for national and international consulting firms, universities, and nonprofits, his passion lies in data strategy and the craft of data visualization. He now lives in Chicago with his wife and his cat, Potato.
